What to do if someone is at training and shows symptoms of COVID-19

If someone is at training when they find out or begin to suspect they have the virus, these are the seven steps to follow

Steps

 

1

Inform and Isolate Team coach / Manager / Adult immediately. Move away from the group to parent.

2 Isolate:Remove the person from others.
3 Contact DHHS:  Contact the national COVID-19 hotline on 1800 020 080, and follow the advice of health officials and follow the advice given.

4

Transport:Parent should take their child from training. Based on the advice of medical professionals should then go home or to a medical facility.

5

Clean:Club to inform Council and take advice regarding, the area where the person has been training and all the places they have been should be cleaned.

Identify:Ensure the register of attendance is complete and make this available to medical authorities on request. The club will cooperate in full with all authorities.

HYGIENE - CLUB

All surfaces, equipment and objects (including around entry points) are wiped down after each training session with appropriate anti-bacterial / disinfectant wipes or soap, particularly those frequently touched – this includes door handles, light switches, phones, remote controls, pitch entry points and any other high touch areas as well as all equipment including balls

The facility will be cleaned each day prior to training commencing.
Unisex Toilets will be cleaned every hour during training.
The club rooms, change rooms and general facilities will not be accessible by any member of the club other than the dedicated Committee member to turn lights on and off.

Regular and thorough hand washing is promoted via prominent signage (including at entry and exit points – to be marked as such) around the venue. Signage is available to download via our Return to Football portal.

Players and coaches will wash hands with sanitisers prior to training commencing, at every break (20min) and end of training session

Signage provided by Dandenong council will be displayed at the club and all members will receive an email with all the guidelines on how to attend training.

Hand sanitiser dispensers are provided in prominent places around the venue (including entry and exit points) and are regularly refilled

Every coach will have a Hand Sanitiser with them. Each player participating training will asked to have a hand sanitiser along with their water bottle. Sanitisers will be present at the club and the toilets.

Soap dispensers in toilets are regularly refilled

Soap dispensers will be refilled when required.

Bins will not be accessible at the training facility.

All rubbish brought to grounds by the player will need to be taken home and disposed of at the players home.

Toilet facilities are regularly cleaned with disinfectant - advice on cleaning is available from the Department of Health and Human Services

Toilets will be cleaned every hour and sanitisers will be refilled along with soap when required.

Prominent signage that not more than 1 person is permitted per toilet facility at any one time

Signage provided by Council will be displayed at the grounds.

Wash hands with hand sanitiser immediately before and after training and during scheduled breaks in training

Players and coaches will wash hands with sanitisers prior to training commencing, at every break (20min) and end of training session

Not spit at any time

No Spitting rule to be always enforced .

Not share drink bottles and clearly label their own bottle

Players must bring own drink bottles that are clearly marked. Drinking from the facilities drinking fountains is strictly prohibited.

Take their training bib or any other items worn/used during training, home to wash individually

The club will not use any bibs during the stage of training.

Carry hand sanitiser in order to enable good personal hygiene

Each coach will have a hand sanitiser available. Each player will be asked to carry a hand sanitiser to training

Cover mouth and nose with a tissue or your elbow (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze and place tissues directly in bins

Covering mouth and nose with tissue or own elbow when coughing or sneezing will be enforced whilst at the club and washing hands straight after will be encouraged

Avoid the use of public toilets, however if necessary, ensure hands are washed thoroughly

Unisex Toilets will be available for emergency only. Only one person can enter toilets at any given time. Sanitisers will be in the toilets block.

Not share pens or clip boards

Only Team Managers or assigned assistants will use pen and clipboard to maintain record of players attendance

Avoid touching eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean

Reminders will be present at the club coaches and managers will always actively promote the appropriate behaviour whilst at training

Shower at home before and after training

All participating players will be advised that they all must shower at home. Facilities at the club will be closed.

Ensure not more than 1 person per toilet facility at any one time

The rule will be enforced and managers to remind all team members

TRAINING – COACH & CLUB OFFICIALS

Entry must be refused to any person who attends training who is known in the last 14 days to have (or had) symptoms, contact with a known/suspected case, or be at high risk

Club will enforced that any member that may have been in contact with anyone that has contracted COVID-19 or has experienced any symptoms that may be a symptom of COVID-19 is prohibited from attending the venue or training for 14 days. Coaches and club officials will be instructed to observe and identify any symptoms that may be of concern. All players will be asked a series of questions regarding potential exposure prior to training commencing

Staggered training start times to minimise risk of congregation

Training times will be staggered with interval between sessions to limit congregation and congestion at the car park.

A gap of no less than 20 minutes in between scheduled training sessions to avoid congregation

A 20-minute gap will be scheduled between training sessions

An accurate record of all attendees (including parents/carers) for the purposes of contact tracing must be kept, including full name, FFA number, phone number, date and time of attendance and confirmation whether they have downloaded COVIDSafe (Template available here) - to be completed only by the coach in line with physical distancing

Managers will complete an attendance form prior to the commencement of each session. All members will be requested to complete and update all details with the club including if they have downloaded to COVID App.

If any player presents to training with COVID-like symptoms, they must be immediately isolated and sent home as soon as possible

Coaches, Managers and club officials will be instructed to observe and identify any symptoms that may be of concern. Any player demonstrating symptoms will be sent home and requested to quarantine for 14 days. They will also be asked to be tested and present evidence of results.

Player groups of no more than 20 plus a coach or the minimum number of support staff reasonably required to run the activity – FV would expect that no more than a single coach is required unless exceptional circumstances apply

Groups will be limited to 20 players ONLY. Only one coach per team will be permitted with a Manager to record attendance and assist with first aid

 

There are to be no spectators. Parents/carers are to be located outside of the facility and maintain social distancing at all times. If parents/carers are located inside the facility they are to be counted as part of the 20 people participating.

All parents will be by asked by committee not to leave their vehicle unless to use the toilet.

Physical distancing of 1.5 metres between each person at all times. There is to be no cross over or mixing between zones by any personnel and buffer of at least 5 metres is required between each zone/half.

Adherence to the hygiene protocols in this document

All players and officials of the club will be regularly reminded of the protocols. Signage will always be available, and the protocols will be enforced

Regular breaks are to be provided for the purpose of rehydrating and hand sanitising.

Players will be given water breaks every 20 mins. Players will be requested to rehydrate and sanitise their hands

No social activity is to occur once training has concluded

Players will be asked to leave training as soon as completed. They will be directed to immediately leave the premises without any socialising

Players are to leave the venue in a staged approach, with sessions concluding in a clockwise manner

Sessions will be concluding in a staggered approach. Players will be asked to leave training via allocated exit.

Access to equipment storage areas limited to a committee member accompanied by council representative

Club will organise a time with council to access and remove any and all equipment required for training.

Training zones must be a minimum of 45m by 45m (being half the FIFA standard full -size pitch)

All zones will meet the minimum requirement of 45m X 45m

20 players, coach assistants (Managers) can be within each zone

Each zone will be limited to 20 players and one coach and Manager

If a ball from one training zone enters another training zone, players are directed to gently kick the ball back rather than pick it up and throw it

Players are not permitted to handle any equipment including balls with their hands. Balls the cross zones will be returned by way of soft pass by foot.

Training zones must be clearly marked and participants and parents/guardians must be notified that they are not to move into any other zone during training

All zones will be marked in different colours and will be numbered. Players will be informed in advance in which zone they will undertake their training. Players will remain in the same zone for the entire session.

TRAINING – PLAYER/PARENT

You must not arrive more than 10 minutes prior to training commencing

Players must arrive at a maximum of 10 minutes prior to training. Players will be advised in advance on the zone they are training in.

You must not congregate at the entry point

Players will exit their vehicles at the carpark and immediately go to their nominated zones.

You must arrive prepared to train – changing rooms will not be in use

Players will be advised to attend training in their training gear. Changerooms will not be available.

You must bring your own drink bottles clearly labelled. No sharing of drink bottles is permitted

Each player will be required to supply their own drink bottle that is clearly marked with their name. sharing of drink bottles is strictly prohibited.

You must bring your own Hand Sanitiser. No sharing of Hand Sanitiser is permitted

If reasonably practical, only one parent/carer to take their child(ren) to training

Parents will be instructed to remain in their cars. Parents will be advised that only one parent should take their child/ren to training

Parents/carers to keep a reasonable distance from the pitch - those that remain with their child(ren) during training will be considered part of the group of 20, unless they are formally coaching or instructing the activity

Parents will be instructed to remain in their cars at ALL times
